BGC Announces Collaboration for Safer Gambling Week 2021

Safer Gambling Week 2021 will bring together the Bingo Association, Bacta, and the Betting and Gaming Council (BSG). The program will be in place between November 1, 2021, and November 7, 2021.

In the future, the council hopes to develop stronger gaming and betting rules in order to establish better expectations. As the betting and gaming industry is garnering a good reputation, the requirement of setting standards is highly essential. The aim for a better future will only be accomplished when the world could establish trust in the system.

Michael Dugher, CEO of BGC, stated that they are very pleased to support safer gambling week in 2021.

Safer Gambling Week is an excellent time to draw attention to the differences between regulated and unlicensed markets.

The campaign for safer gambling started in 2017. The 2021 event will also feature a “blitz” of safer gambling messages, both online and onsite.

According to the BGC, the impact of 2020’s campaign was vital as they reported a 19% improvement in social media impressions. Almost 19 million people viewed the post on responsible gambling. Operators have also favorably reported the number of people opting for tools for safer gambling.

Miles Baron, CEO of the Bingo Association, said that safe gambling week had become an essential part of the bingo community. It helps the community to understand their social responsibility and acts as an important focal point for support activities.

John White of Bacta added that Safer Gambling week is an opportunity for the community to show their commitment to responsible gambling. This also draws attention to the people who need help to battle the addiction. Supporters willing to join the community can register online. Every arm of the regulated betting and gaming industry will come together this year, according to the BGC, to inspire employees, consumers, and the general public to talk about responsible gambling.

It would be interesting to see if any change on safe gambling will be in effect this year, rather than mere rhetoric that isn’t practiced by operators who work with distressed consumers.
