July 15 Will See Draft Sports Betting Rules Being Released By Maryland

Thursday will see how the state of Maryland is gearing up for a sportsbook rollout. The event has got all the sports bettors across Maryland excited. The state gaming officials confirmed how before the approval by the state regulators scheduled for July 15, the sports betting scene at Maryland would see draft regulations being put up. Permanent and emergency regs, as proposed, will see a review option for the potential licensees and bettors across the websites of the Gaming agency and Maryland Lottery. The approval for a Maryland sports betting license is in the hands of the Sports Wagering Application Review Commission (SWARC). The newly formed SWARC is entailed to do a thorough background check of the successful applicants before they run up to rollout a sportsbook. The total number of sports betting licenses up for grabs is a whopping hundred in number. Sixty of them are for mobile and online sports betting.

Seventeen of the retail facilities might see sportsbooks open up by this fall as per the licensing preferences by the sports betting law of Maryland. The list includes casinos, OTBs, pro sports stadiums, horse racetracks, to bingo halls with a minimum of e-bingo machines to the tune of 200.
